Twin Cities Jewish teens, 2026–27

Help teens talk about the hard stuff.

Know Your Story brings 8th–12th graders together for three Sundays of learning with StandWithUs, nationally recognized leaders in teen Jewish education and identity building. After each session, teens break into grade-level groups to actually talk about the material. We're hiring the people who will lead those smaller group conversations.

Two roles

Both work with the same teens on the same three Sundays. They do different jobs in the room.

Group Facilitator

$1,000 for the project

For experienced Jewish educators. Four spots, covering grades 8–9, 10–11, and 12.

  • Lead a grade-level discussion group for 30–45 minutes at each of the three sessions
  • Attend both trainings with StandWithUs educators
  • Help teens process what they just learned — not deliver a lesson
  • Hold the room when a conversation gets uncomfortable, which it will

College-Age Mentor

$550 for the project

For college students and young adults. Four spots.

  • Join the breakout groups as a near-peer, not a second teacher
  • Attend both trainings
  • Bring energy, ask the question a teen is afraid to ask
  • Be a young Jewish leader a teen can picture themselves becoming

What we're looking for

We're not asking for a resume. We're asking how you'll make this time count — how you'll help teens feel confident asking their questions, sharing their thoughts, and opening their perspectives.

Matters a lot

  • You've led a group of teens before — camp, youth group, Hillel, classroom, anywhere
  • You can sit with a hard question instead of rushing to answer it
  • You're clear about your own Jewish and Zionist identity, and comfortable when a teen isn't yet
  • Teens like being around you

Matters less

  • Years of experience
  • Formal teaching credentials
  • Deep expertise in Israeli history — StandWithUs handles the content
  • Having every answer

This is not a teaching job. StandWithUs runs the learning portion of each session. Your job starts when the teens break into groups and have to figure out what they actually think.

The five dates

All five are required. Trainings are on Zoom in the evening; sessions are Sunday afternoons in person.
